Why I Built The Chemo Club: A Caregiver’s Story

I’ll never forget the moment I got the call… the one that changed everything. I had just graduated from the University of Arizona, full of ambition, plans, and a carefree spirit. That all shifted the moment my mom, Andrea, was diagnosed with cancer.

Overnight, I became a caregiver. But not just that: I was a chef, a chauffeur, a nurse, an administrative assistant, a pharmacist, and a daughter… all rolled into one. No one prepares you for this. There’s no manual. Just a blur of hospital visits, late-night research, and the constant, gnawing question: Am I doing enough?

And in all that chaos, I realized something that still drives me today: there were almost no resources made for someone like me — a young adult trying to navigate this new world of cancer with no map, no support system, and no idea where to start.

Enter: The Chemo Club

I created The Chemo Club to be what I wish I had back then: a support system that doesn’t sugarcoat the experience but meets it with strength, style, and substance. It’s for patients, caregivers, survivors, and anyone who’s felt overwhelmed and underserved in a medical system that can feel clinical, cold, and confusing.

This isn’t your typical cancer club.

We talk clean living.

We share podcast interviews with experts, survivors, and everyday warriors.

We curate beauty and wellness swaps that actually support healing without the toxic ingredients.

We create guides that simplify the chaos.

A Shift That’s Bigger Than Me

Today, more young people are being diagnosed with cancer than ever before - and we’re committed to asking why. The Chemo Club isn’t just a platform. It’s a movement. One built around empowerment, education, and community.

I don’t know how to cure cancer, but I do know how to help someone feel seen in the process. That’s what this is all about.

Fighting with you, fighting for you, and fighting alongside you!

xoxo,

Allie
